Codicote Tennis Club

Brief History

We are a fully inclusive club and offer tennis for all irrelevant of age, ability and financial circumstances. Established in 1967 as a single court club based at the St Albans Road recreation ground, the club has grown and developed significantly in recent years. We now have three floodlight courts and over 100 players, both adult and juniors, representing the club in competitive matches as well as a similar number of players who prefer to play socially. It is this balance that makes us different from the larger tennis centres across Hertfordshire and helps us create a fantastic social atmosphere.

The last few years have been incredibly busy, culminating in the rebuilding of courts 2 and 3 and the successful creation of a new junior club session.

Club Tennis Sessions

Everbody is welcome to come to Club sessions and this is a great place for new members to start. Sessions are held on Sunday mornings (10am - 2pm) and Wednesday evenings (7pm - 10pm) throughout the year. All levels are welcome, just turn up and play. Balls are supplied.

"Rusty Rackets" sessions for beginners and those returning to the game are held at 9.30am on Tuesday and Saturday morningsf you are a little bit nervous and haven't played for a long time, you may want to come along to 'Rusty Racquets' first until you find your feet.

Junior club night is on Friday evenings and consists of two sessions.

5pm - 6.30pm is for children aged 10-14 (must be in year 6 or above).

6.30pm - 8pm for children aged 15-18 years.

League and competitive matches

The club has over 30 teams (mixture of men, women and juniors) representing Codicote in Hertfordshire wide competitions and leagues throughout the year. These are for all standards of player and start at ages 5 upwards for juniors and any age for adults!
